Translation Platform (iQube)

iQube is a central hub that hosts all your translation memories, glossaries and customer style sheets. It was designed for maximum flexibility and supports many different file formats, including many bilingual text formats, e.g. SDL Trados, Transit and memoQ.

iQube is our translators’ "work space", developed by our in-house programmers. All our translators and reviewers work against this cloud-hosted system in real time. The platform is tightly integrated with our CrossCheck® QA checker for real-time checking of quality issues. Each time the translator or reviewer closes a segment, iQube performs instant QA on the text and warns if something is amiss, e.g. if numbers don’t match, glossary terms were not used, style guide is not followed, etc.

Review and Instant, Compulsory QA

iQube was built to comply with the ISO 17100 and ISO 18587 standards to which we have been certified. This means that every translation project is subjected to a follow-up review by a second native professional translator who also works in iQube and has the same view as the original translator to see glossary entries, fuzzy matches, etc.

Before delivery, every project undergoes final QA checking by our internal staff. This process also involves consistency checking to make sure segments have been translated uniformly throughout the entire project and to make sure nothing has been missed.

Data Security

A positive effect of iQube is data security. All data is only stored on cloud servers and is not saved on local computers of translators and reviewers around the world. This minimizes the risk of files going astray, while it also meets some of the strict requirements on file management and data control as regulated in numerous ISO standards and, more importantly, in the EU General Data Protection Regulation that goes into effect in spring 2018.

Glossaries & PDF References

iQube can load glossaries from many different file formats. When a segment is opened, the glossary entries that are relevant for the current segment are highlighted and can be easily taken over by the translator. Glossaries can be reused from one project to the next, and it is also possible to generate new entries during translation and review.

Additionally, iQube can display text in PDF reference files; if it detects similar text, this is automatically displayed in a separate window to the translator.

Fuzzy Matching

When similar or identical text segments are detected in the translation memory, these are displayed to the translator who can then edit and reuse the text. This saves time and ensures consistency with previous translations. Also, the reviewer will see these proposals to make sound decisions on the appropriateness of a given translation.

Team Mode

With iQube, a project can also be assigned to a team of translators to shorten the delivery term. Everyone working on the same project can see what other team members have translated. For repeating segments, one translator will translate the first instance, while everybody else will benefit from his translation and see text as repeating segments. Towards the end of the project, one editor reviews the translated segments from all translators in the team to make sure text is consistent and reads as one voice.
